MEMBERSHIP
APPLICATION PROCESS INFORMATION
In response to your request for information about membership in the
LAKESHORE PEMBROKE WELSH CORGI CLUB, INC. please find details below
regarding the process of applying for membership and the requirements
for membership. All members are required to abide by our Constitution
and By-Laws, Policy and Code of Ethics. Therefore, these documents are
enclosed for your information.
1) Requirements for Sponsors (rev.
11/15/03):

Two club members from different households
who have known the applicant for at least one year must sponsor
applicants applying for membership. A sponsor may not be from
the same household or the immediate family of the applicant.

To be eligible to sponsor an applicant, a member
must have been in the club for at least two years. The same member
may sponsor no more than three applicants within one Club year.

At least one of the sponsoring members must
write a letter of recommendation for the applicant, which will
accompany the membership application.

The sponsors should assist the applicant with
the application process by obtaining the application forms, answering
any questions the applicant may have and by reviewing the Code
of Ethics and Constitution with the applicant.

Sponsors should ascertain, to the best of their
knowledge, the eligibility of the applicant according to the requirements
below prior to signing the application. At least one current member
in good standing must have visited the applicant's home/kennel
and a letter indicating this will accompany the application.

The sponsors will assist the Membership Committee
by answering questions pertaining to the applicant's eligibility
which may arise in the Committee's review of the application or
that are presented to the Membership Committee by the membership
2) Requirements for Applicants (rev. 11/15/03):

Applicants must possess an interest in the Pembroke
Welsh Corgi, must be at least 18 years of age and be in good standing
with the American Kennel Club. (Applicants need not own a corgi).

Applicants are required to have attended two L.P.W.C.C.
meetings within the previous 24 months prior to submitting their
application.

Applicants must subscribe to the objects of the
club as detailed in ARTICLE I of the Constitution and by-laws and
to the Code of Ethics. Activities contrary to the club's objects
or to the Code of Ethics prior to making application for membership
are evidence that an applicant is not eligible for membership.

Applicants are required to attest in writing on
their membership application that they will abide by the Constitution
and by-laws of the Lakeshore Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club, Inc., The
Code of Ethics of the LPWCC and the rules of the American Kennel
Club.

All successful applicants will be voted into membership
as Associates. This status can be changed on their yearly dues notice.
Regular members are expected to attend 2 meetings each calendar

3) Membership Procedure. (rev. 04/26/60, 01/19/91,
01/18/92, 07/31/92, 01/17/98, 01/20/01, 04/14/01)

Application forms, Membership Information Sheet,
Constitution and Code of Ethics are to be obtained from the Membership
Committee Chairman or any member of the Board by the applicant's
sponsors. The sponsors must review the entire package for accuracy
and completeness and sign the application prior to submitting it
to the Corresponding Secretary.

The completed application along with the applicant's
non-refundable processing fee and dues check shall be sent to Membership
Committee Chairman who is responsible for reviewing the application
with the sponsors and the applicant, if needed. The Membership Committee
is also responsible for reviewing questions regarding the eligibility
of the applicant submitted by the membership.

The application shall be read to the membership
at the next meeting following its receipt. The applicant's name(s)
and address(es) will be published in the next Meeting Notice requesting
comments regarding the applicant's eligibility for membership. Comments
should be sent to the Membership Committee Chairman. The notice
shall announce that the applicant's membership will be brought before
the membership for a vote at the next meeting following publication.

At this next meeting, the application shall be
read a second time and the Membership Committee's report shall be
presented prior to voting. An affirmative vote of 3/4 of the regular
members present and voting is required for membership in the Club.

Applicants shall vacate the meeting during membership

In the absence of a Membership Committee, applicants
shall be notified by the Corresponding Secretary, in writing, of
the results of the vote, in accordance with Article IV, Section
2c of the Constitution and By Laws. Notification is otherwise provided

Applicants who do not receive the required 3/4
affirmative vote may not reapply for one-year following their application's
rejection. The rejected applicant will be sent a check returning
their dues minus the non-refundable processing fee. (rev. 04/14/01,
